‘Aina: the land that feeds
‘Aina Ranch is a dream destination, a working cattle and guest ranch on the island of Kauai. Owned by the Mahelona family for generations, ‘Aina is known for its untouched natural beauty, delicious food, and being a place where one can rest and rejuvenate. Trouble begins to brew in this peaceful retreat when Haoa Mahelona dies leaving behind massive debt to some dangerous people.
At one time ‘Aina had been Vale Harper’s favorite place in the world, but life kept her away for longer than she would have liked. After losing her husband and toddler son to a car accident, Vale holes up at her parents’ home in Idaho. When news of her uncle’s death reaches the mainland, she reluctantly flies across the Pacific to see what she can do to help save the family ranch. Never did she expect to find a new home and a second chance at love.
Weaver Ash moved to Kauai looking for a fresh start, but quickly discovers the small community is slow to warm to newcomers. His law practice struggling, he takes Vale Harper’s case to protect a popular guest ranch from a shady real estate tycoon. Before long, his mind is wandering to more than the legal battle in front of them and Weaver is embroiled in violence and intrigue he’d never find in the courtroom.
Weaver and Vale’s story begins in The Bet’s Off and continues into Broken Beginnings, and will keep moving along with future books. The ‘Aina Ranch Series takes place in Toby Neal’s Lei Crime Kindle World. While her characters are not the main focus of this saga, they do play an important role as they cross paths with the crew from ‘Aina.
